VIDEO PRODUCTION
David Butterfield/Diamond Sun Productions represents a scalable company of professionals ready to take full production responsibility or fill in your crew as needed. We specialize in mountain sports and rugged locations. If we can't directly staff your departments we'll help you find other local or regional pros to step up.
STOCK FOOTAGE
Starting in 16mm Film, then early video technology, now HD and 4K, we have interviews and footage that might help make your project shine. Sun Valley and skiing celebrities, vintage and contemporary sports action, mountain and resort ambience, wildlife, trees, flowers, scenic vistas, events, and weather. What's on your wish list?

LOCAL PRODUCER OR FIXER
Let us help you hit the ground running and stay on top of local details during prep, through production, and after you've moved on. We'll consult and contribute in all departmentsas needed. No tasks too small or too large.
LOCATION MANAGEMENT
We'll help get your crew and vehicles into Idaho, secure locations, and line up local or regional vendors for traffic control, catering, medical, support vehicles, and clean-up.
LOCATION SCOUTING
Our scouts start with file pulls and phone calls. Then with direction on your preferences and objectives, we'll check current conditions and availability. We'll shoot stills and/or video, provide compass, topographical, and contact information. See Permits below for more information.
PERMITS
Idaho is a mosaic of private and public land and many shoots access multiple jurisdictions. We'll help you pull permits for National Forests, BLM, National Recreation Areas, National Monuments, State Parks, and Cities.
LOCAL CAST AND CREW
We'll work with local or regional agencies, stage casting calls, refer local experts, athletes, or characters to help you get an authentic look in front of the camera. We'll consult on all departments to help staff mountain-capable crews.
SERVICE REFERRALS
If we haven't been there and done it, we'll work with you to make it happen. Most productions bring in department heads and key people, but we'll help you find locals to round out your crew and service needs. Catering, transportation, grip and electric, hair and make-up, PAs, etc. There is not a large pool of production people in Idaho, but we have a tourism service industry and mountain-skilled people ready to help visiting producers with ingenuity and an eye towards saving money.
